World Missions Outreach

. . . following Jesus into all the world

Our Vision Statement

Trinity is a congregation that follows Jesus into the world so all peoples can know him and experience his transforming love.

Hudson Taylor once said, “God isn’t looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him.” For 133 years, Trinity has been following Jesus into all the world. Many Christian leaders and missionaries received their ministerial call within the walls of our church. Over the years Trinity has generously given to global mission projects as well as engaging in our own mission involvement through short-term mission trips, mission education and missionary care.

Our strategic areas of focus are in the areas of:

  • Leadership Development
  • Church Planting
  • Church Mobilization & Research
  • Mercy & Justice Ministries
  • North American Evangelism
  • Bible Translation

We support missionaries who serve in Asia, Bonaire, Canada, Ecuador, England, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Indonesia, the Middle East, Mozambique, Senegal, Spain, Tanzania, the United States, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Partnerships

Ethiopia Partnership

Trinity's involvement in Ethiopia began in 1925 when we commissioned Fred and Daisy Russell as our very first missionaries.  75 years later, Trinity decided to adopt an unreached people group and God directed us to Ethiopia, an amazing sequence!  In October 2002, Trinity's Session voted to adopt the Suri and Baale people of Ethiopia.

We chose to give focused energy, resources, and prayer for the Suri and Baale peoples in order to see vibrant, self-sustaining churches established among them.  The Suri and the Baale are isolated geographically and culturally from the rest of Ethiopia and had not heard of God's love.  They herd cattle and have a revenge culture.  Now there is a Suri church, but the Baale are still unreached.

We also made a partnership with the local Synod of the Ethiopian denomination.  We rejoice in sharing with these vibrant Christian brothers and sisters.  A number of Trinity's people have gone to learn and to serve the Suri and the Synod.  If you are interested in joining one of our trips, contact Giny Roundy at ginyroundy@aol.com.

Romania Partnership

It began as a partnership, turned into a relationship and now is a wonderful friendship! When we made our first trip in 2000 to Romania, we never knew how fast our love for the country and people would grow. Through short-term mission trips God has taught us how to love and encourage our Christian brothers and sisters in Romania who have become to us, just like family.

In August 2000 Sandy Pauley and Marie Chichester, members of Trinity's World Mission Team took a group of 12 people to Romania to research and learn about the World Vision's Family Sponsorship program. After visiting many of the families in Cluj, Romania who would be participants in the program, Sandy and Marie came home as advocates for the program, sharing their stories with their friends and families at Trinity. By 2002 Trinity was sponsoring over 80 families in the Cluj area, living on less than a dollar a day.

Family Sponsorship helps families learn how to become self-sustaining through supporting families in the areas of health care, spiritual involvement, education, economic development and community spirit. Letters are written and exchanged between the family that is sponsored and the sponsorship family. God is using Trinity members to change and transform lives into healthier family environments. Because of our involvement and support more children are able to stay in school and live at home. World Vision and Romania Staff feel God called us to be the hands and feet in His mission field in Romania.

If you are interested in participating on a future trip to Romania or sponsoring a family there please contact the mission department for more details and upcoming trip dates.
