Disabilities Ministry

Disabilities Ministry

The goal of Disabilities Ministry is to demonstrate God's love through Christ by serving the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the physically, mentally, and developmentally disabled community, working toward total inclusion in the life of Trinity through worship, study, service and fellowship.

Our hope is to establish an annual Disabilities Ministry Sunday in order to increase the congregation's awareness of disabilities. We also want to work toward eliminating architectural barriers for people with disabilities within the Trinity campus.

Listed below are some of the many ways Trinity provides care and support for this community:

Disabilities Ministry Sunday
Capernaum
Club Strive
Friday Night Live
National Alliance for Mental Illness

Disabilities Ministry Sunday is an annual event to bring congregational awareness of the disabled.

Capernaum is Young Life's branch to share the gospel and reach teenagers with disabilities. Young Life Capernaum gives these teenagers opportunities to have fun, try new things, build their self esteem, make new friends and explore a personal relationship with God.

Club Strive exists to create lasting friendships between children with disabilities (up to 18 years old) and teen mentors.

Friday Night Live is an entertainment event for the Developmentally Disabled that Trinity hosts 3 times a year.

National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI)
NAMI sponsors a 12 week educational class that moves families from despair and isolation to hope through their Family-to-Family Education Program.
